Staffordshire Libraries
BPN Architects were appointed by Staffordshire County Council to be part of the Library Vision Programme which involved the refurbishment of a number of existing public libraries across Staffordshire. The budget varied significantly for the various libraries – from £30,000 for Uttoxeter Library up to £320,000 for Tamworth Library.
The Tamworth Library project involved the refurbishment of the main lending library hall with the construction of a new mezzanine floor with access bridge links and a new stair. The interiors were designed to reflect the open nature of the new library vision and super graphics were chosen and co-ordinated in collaboration with the graphic designers and marketing consultants.
We also completed a project at The Nicholson Institute in Leek which is a Grade II * Listed Building containing a library, museum and art gallery. The works included internal remodelling and interior design, furniture and a new glazed bridge link providing DDA access.
