architecture = place + people
people + place = architecture
architecture is about place – places we know, walk through, visit, work, play, live and socialise. It has a real context – historical, economical, political, environmental and social. These are the situations where architecture happens.
architecture is about people – it provides a background for individuals or groups, large or small, to come together. Be it a town square, a theatre, an office, a community centre – their aim is to bring people together. These are the interactions people experience everyday and architecture enables them to happen.
