The Bond, Digbeth

There are five main structures that make up The Bond and this makes it a typical development within the Digbeth area. Having had many different users over time the buildings are varied in condition, size and age but are tied together by the use of brick in their construction.

In March 2021 proposals for the refurbishment of the buildings were approved and along with £3 million funding, the popular venue is now set to receive a facelift which will provide 50,000sqft of flexible workspace for independent TV production and creative content developers.

Maintaining and celebrating the successful, historic elements and features, rationalising layouts and internal spaces, and improving the landscaping and approach were all very important objectives. With a less is more philosophy, we have agreed on a simple palette of exposed brick, steel and glass.

Led by Oval Real Estate, works on this new creative hub have now begun, with completion in Q2 2022.
