BPN were appointed by King Edward VI College, Stourbridge to undertake a feasibility study and masterplan framework to offer flexibility with future funding opportunities. The masterplan identified two initial phases of development which matched the College’s Business Plan.

The first phase is a two storey, 7 classroom maths teaching block located on a site adjacent to the main college campus. The building has been designed to complement the existing building stock whilst raising the accommodation standards to set the benchmark for future development and provide a 21st Century learning environment.

Phase 1 set out to provide a new front to the college. It has been carefully designed to provide an excellent learning environment, with high levels of natural daylight and natural ventilation. The aesthetics take clues from the surrounding building stock on campus and within the Conservation area to ultimately produce a contemporary building that sits comfortably within its context.

Phase 2 will include a £3.5m new performing arts teaching block, which will also include new ICT suites and Graphics studios as well as a large student social space at ground floor level.

We have also recently completed a new sports pavilion at the college.
