Birmingham Metropolitan College (BMET) are relocating their Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) from its current home in Brierley Hill to Stourbridge College. The ATC delivers BMET’s carpentry, plumbing and electrical curriculum.

The project involves converting a former 1950s workshop that was refurbished into classrooms in the 1990s back into workshop spaces. The project is well underway.

The approach has been to retain and work with the existing building as much as possible whilst improving its energy efficiency. This involves internally insulating the building which requires a new wall lining. We have chosen an ‘off-the-shelf’ plywood sheet to line the walls which is cost effective, simple to install and reflects the nature of the workshops.
