Associate Gavin Orton has been appointed as the new Chair of Birmingham Civic Society. The news was shared by the Civic Society earlier today in their latest newsletter:
The trustees are delighted to announce that Gavin Orton will be the next Chairman of the Birmingham Civic Society, taking over from the current Chair, Christine Cushing, when she stands down after three years, at our AGM on 19th November.
Gavin has chaired the Planning Committee since becoming a Trustee in 2013 and is an Associate at BPN Architects. He is looking forward to being able to continue to influence the future of the city’s physical environment by promoting the highest standards of planning and architecture whilst working hard to engender civic pride across the whole of Birmingham.
Birmingham Civic Society has championed civic pride and worked to make Birmingham a better place for its citizens, visitors and workforce for more than 90 years. At a time when Birmingham is so often in the limelight for development and investment, it’s an exciting time for Gavin to be involved.
