BPN are excited to see that two of the Birmingham City University Co.Lab projects have been submitted to the Architects Journal Small Projects Awards 2014.
The projects: Flat Pack Festival Film Palais at The Old Library, Digbeth and the Tamed with a Smile: Dudley Zoo / Lubetkin / Tecton Installation at Dudley Zoo are both projects which BPN enjoyed being involved with.
Russell Ingram and Katie Miller, current Part 2 students working for BPN, worked on the Flat Pack Festival Film Palais as part of their Co.Lab work, and oddly enough BPN were the architects who carried out the renovation work to the actual venue – The Old Library which is located with the Custard Factory complex back in 2001 so were able to provide survey information for the students to use in their work. Link to The Old Library project page can be found here.
Larry Priest took a visiting tutor roll on the Tamed with a Smile installation at Dudley Zoo, having been involved with the Lubetkin Tecton Structures renovation works at the zoo for some time [watch this space for some more blog info on that!]
We wish Birmingham City University Co.Lab projects luck with the awards and look forward to the results when they are announced.
