Many years ago, we were down to the last 2 shortlisted practices for the project to redevelop mac in Cannon Hill Park. Sadly we were pipped at the post, despite having the late, great Architect Ralph Erskine on our side. He is perhaps best known in the UK for the Byker redevelopment in Newcastle and the Greenwich Millennium Village in London.
These are Ralph’s original hand drawn sketches we used for the bid (note his trademark hot air balloon). We thought they had been lost years ago when we moved from our tiny Bearwood office 7 years ago but they were here all along, tucked away safely in a portfolio in the archive room. Quite a relief I can tell you!
